Rohit Sharma completes 11,500 ODI runs: A milestone-filled knock in Vizag
Rohit Sharma added yet another chapter to his illustrious career by crossing 11,500 runs in ODI cricket during the third ODI against South Africa in Visakhapatnam. The milestone came when he reached 59 runs in India’s chase, making him only the ninth batter in ODI history to cross the mark. Earlier in the same innings, Rohit also surpassed 20,000 international runs, underlining his status as one of the modern greats.
Solid Start with Jaiswal
Rohit brought up a fluent half-century in the 20th over, reaching the mark off 54 deliveries. Chasing 271, he and Yashasvi Jaiswal provided India with a commanding start, stitching together a 155-run opening partnership. While Jaiswal dug in, Rohit mixed caution with aggression, playing his strokes confidently once he settled.
Rohit falls for a classy 75
After pacing his innings beautifully, Rohit eventually departed for a well-made 75 off 73 balls, an innings laced with seven fours and three sixes. Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj ended his stay in the 26th over.

Rohit’s consistency against South Africa continues to shine. He has now accumulated 952 ODI runs against them at an average of 35.25. His knock in Vizag marked his seventh fifty-plus score against the Proteas, including three centuries. He also crossed 100 fours against South Africa (now 101).
5,000-plus ODI runs at home
The Indian skipper also surpassed 5,000 ODI runs on home soil, becoming one of the few Indian batters to do so. In 97 home matches, Rohit now boasts 5,013 runs at 56.96, including 24 fifties and 14 centuries. He also went past 500 fours at home (505).
In Asia overall, Rohit has climbed to 6,969 runs, registering his 39th fifty in the region.
