দুই দিনেই ৪.২৭ কোটি আয় !

`ইশকজাদে` ছবিটি দিয়ে বলিউডে অভিষেক ঘটে অভিনেতা অর্জুন কাপুরের। ১৭মে তার অভিনীত দ্বিতীয় ছবি ‘আওরঙ্গজেব’ মুক্তি পেয়েছে। অতুল সাভারওয়াল পরিচালিত নতুন এ ছবিটি মুক্তির প্রথম দুই দিনেই ৪.২৭ কোটি (ভারতীয়) টাকা ব্যবসা করেছে।

মাত্র ২৫ কোটি (ভারতীয়) টাকা বাজেটে নির্মিত এ ছবিটি দিল্লি, উত্তর প্রদেশ এবং পশ্চিম পাঞ্জাবে খুব ভাল ব্যবসা করছে বলে জানা গেছে।

এছাড়াও  দেশের বাইরে থেকেই আয় হয়েছে ৩৬.৭৮ লাখ(ভারতীয়) টাকা। ‘আওরঙ্গজেব’ ছবিটি প্রযোজনা করেছে যশরাজ ফিল্মস্ ।

ভূমি দস্যুতার কাহিনী নিয়ে নির্মিত এই ছবিটিতে আরো অভিনয় করেছেন-জ্যাকি শ্রুফ, ঋষি কাপুর, দক্ষিণী অভিনেতা পৃথ্বীরাজ শুকুমারান এবং অমৃতা সিং।

আদালতে আত্মসমর্পণ করলেন সঞ্জয় দত্ত

জনপ্রিয় বলিউড তারকা সঞ্জয় দত্ত মুম্বাইয়ের একটি আদালতে আত্মসমর্পণ করেছেন। এসময় তিনি সাদা কুর্তা, জিন্স পরেছিলেন। কপালে ছিল লাল তিলক।

বৃহস্পতিবার বিকেলে আত্মসমর্পণের সময় শত শত লোক আদালতের বাইরে ছিল। এই ভিড় ঠেলে আদালত প্রাঙ্গণে প্রবেশ করতে তাকে বেশ বেগ পেতে হয়েছে।

এদিন বিকেলে সঞ্জয় বান্দ্রার বাড়ি বের হন। সঙ্গে ছিলেন স্ত্রী মান্যতা, পরিচালক মহেশ ভাটসহ পারিবারিক বন্ধুরা। পথে তিনি সিদ্ধিবিনায়ক মন্দির ঘুরে আসেন।

সকাল থেকেই সঞ্জয়ের বাড়িতে চলচ্চিত্র শিল্পের অনেকেই তার সঙ্গে দেখা করেন।

১৯৯৩ সালের মুম্বাই বিস্ফোরণ মামলায় বেআইনিভাবে অস্ত্র রাখার দায়ে ভারতীয় আদালত ৫৩ বছর বয়সী তারকাকে পাঁচ বছর কারাদণ্ড দেন। এরই মধ্যে তিনি দেড় বছর কারাভোগ করেছেন। বাকি সাড়ে তিন বছর কারাদণ্ড ভোগ করতে আদালতে আত্মসমর্পণ করেন তিনি।

Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty's 'Dhadkan' to return

The makers of Akshay Kumar-Shilpa Shetty starrer Dhadkan are planning a sequel to the romantic blockbuster.

The 2000 romantic drama, directed by Dharmesh Darshan dealt with the love triangle between Akshay, Shilpa and Sunil Shetty. The film was produced by Ratan Jain of Venus.

"A lot of people have been constantly asking me about our plans of making 'Dhadkan 2'. I am happy to announce that we plan to go on-floors this year. The essence of the film will remain same however, the new age sensibilities will be kept in mind," Ratan Jain said in a statement.

The makers are looking to release the film sometime next year.

"I feel humbled and honoured. To follow-up what is considered a classic is challenging," Darshan said.

Priyanka Chopra has not thrown any tantrums: Arjun Kapoor

For the last few weeks gone by, there have been rumours floating around Priyanka Chopra throwing her weight around on the sets of Gunday. It was also being said that she was making her co-stars (Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Kapoor) hear it loud and clear that she is the one who was the experienced lot around.

Well, as it always happens in instances like these, the ones who were said to be the disgruntled ones have a different story to tell.

"This is all coming out of thin air and nothing like that actually took place on location and in such sinister manner during the shoot of Gunday," says a source, "Whenever there is a much hyped film in the making with good stakes involved, rumours of all kinds start floating around. This is just one of them. Priyanka is too dignified an actor to be actually throwing tantrums or have starry airs around her."

While one waits to hear what Ranveer has to say about the alleged incidents (or the lack of them), Arjun comes out in open. "I am glad someone has asked me to at least clarify this, otherwise such loose talk is simply weird," says Arjun, "Nothing like that ever happened with Priyanka. Honestly, I don't even know what I should say for such matters. She has been a star for so many years and no tantrums have ever come into picture. She is too big to be indulging in such behaviour."

He in fact turns nostalgic when quizzed further around the so-called episodes. "I actually know her from even before the time when I had started off as an actor. I was an assistant on Salaam-e-Ishq and used to call her by saying - Madam, shot ready hai. Till date I tell her that Madam aap aaiye naa. The only difference is that earlier only she was in front of the camera and today both of us are. I am very fond of her and love her as an actor. She has not changed at all and that is the hallmark of a true star and an actor."

Arjun Rampal, Shruti Haasan get intimate in 'D-Day'

Nikhil Advani's upcoming action drama D-Day is all set to release this July. The film's teaser promo was recently released, followed by Rishi Kapoor's look in the film.

In the film, Shruti Haasan will be seen playing the role of a prostitute from Karachi, Pakistan, while Arjun Rampal will be seen playing Rudra Pratap Singh.

Interestingly, Arjun's character infiltrates Karachi where he manages to hole up inside a brothel while his mission preparations are in process. There he meets Shruti's character, post which they fall in love as they realise that their physical scars are matched by the emotional baggage they carry.

Speaking about the character, Nikhil says, "I was thrilled when Shruti agreed to play the role. I had seen her powerhouse performance in the Tamil film 3 and only wanted her. The role is very edgy and shocking in terms of the sacrifices that her character has to make for the man she has fallen in love with..."

D-Day which also features Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and Huma Qureshi is produced by DAR Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment Private Limited and is slated for release on July 19, 2013.

মুন্না ভাই এর সময় শেষ!

বুধবার-ই মুক্ত পরিবেশে জীবন-যাপন সঞ্জয় দত্তের শেষ দিন। ১৬ মের মধ্যে সাড়ে তিন বছরের জন্য শ্রীঘরে তাকে ঢুকতেই হচ্ছে। মঙ্গলবার আত্মসমর্পণের সময় বৃদ্ধির সর্বশেষ আবেদনও খারিজ করে দিয়েছেন ভারতীয় সুপ্রীম কোর্ট।

সঞ্জয়ের চলতি অভিনীত দুটি অসম্পূর্ণ ছবির এক প্রযোজক আদালতে আবেদনটি দায়ের করেছিলেন। এছাড়াও আরো পাঁচটি ছবি রয়ে গেছে যেগুলোতে এখনো সঞ্জয়ের অংশের শুটিং বাকি।

উল্লেখ্য, ১৯৯৩ সালে মুম্বাই বিস্ফোরন মামলায় অভিযুক্ত আসামী সঞ্জয়কে ভারতীয়  আদালত ৫ বছরের সাজা দেন।

মুন্না ভাই খ্যাত এ অভিনেতা সুপ্রীমকোর্টে রায় পুনর্বিবেচনার আপিল করলে ১০ মে শুক্রবার তা নাকচ হয়ে যায়। আগামী ১৬ মে’র মধ্যে আতœসমর্পনের নির্দেশ দেন আদালত।

আগ্নেয়াস্ত্র রাখার দায়ে এর আগে নি¤œ আদালত তাকে ৫ বছরের কারাদন্ড দিলেও তিনি ইতোমধ্যে আঠারো মাস জেলে কাটানোয় তাকে সাড়ে তিন বছর কারা ভোগ করতে হবে।

উল্লেখ্য,১৯৯৩ সালের মুম্বাই বিস্ফোরণে ২৫৭ জন নিহত এবং ৭১৩ জন আহত হয়েছিলেন।

Angelina Jolie undergoes double mastectomy

Actress Angelina Jolie announced in a New York Times op-ed article on Tuesday that she underwent a preventive double mastectomy after learning she carries a mutation of the BRCA1 gene, which sharply increases her risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

"My doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in the case of each woman," Jolie wrote. "Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy."

Jolie's mother, actress and producer Marcheline Bertrand, died of ovarian cancer in 2007 at the age of 56. Jolie is 37 years old.

In the Times op-ed, titled "My Medical Choice," Jolie said she finished three months of medical procedures at the Pink Lotus Breast Center in California on April 27 that included the mastectomies and reconstruction.

"I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made," Jolie wrote. "My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent."

BRCA stands for breast cancer susceptibility genes -- a class of genes known as tumor suppressors, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Mutation of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes has been linked to hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. A blood test can determine if a woman is "highly susceptible" to the cancers.

Oscar-winning film star

Jolie may be best known for title role in the "Laura Croft" series of films, but also won an Academy Award as best supporting actress in "Girl, Interrupted." She also received a Golden Globe Award and SAG Award for the same role.

Jolie serves as a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and has visited refugee camps around the world.

The actress has been in a relationship with actor Brad Pitt since the mid 2000s and they are engaged. The couple has three biological and three adopted children.

In telling her story, Jolie acknowledged that surgery might not be the right choice for every woman.

"For any woman reading this, I hope it helps you to know you have options," Jolie wrote. "I want to encourage every woman, especially if you have a family history of breast or ovarian cancer, to seek out the information and medical experts who can help you through this aspect of your life, and to make your own informed choices."

But for Jolie, the decision ultimately came down to her kids.

"I can tell my children that they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer," she said.

It's a pain Jolie knows all too well from losing her mother to the disease.

ধর্ষণের অভিযোগ থেকে অব্যাহতি পেলেন সুরকার ইমন

ধর্ষণের অভিযোগে বান্ধবী জিনাত কবিরের দায়ের করা মামলা থেকে অব্যাহতি পেলেন সুরকার শওকত আলী ইমন।

আদালতের একটি নির্ভরযোগ্য সূত্র বাংলানিউজকে বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন।

সূত্র জানায়, সকালে শুনানি শেষে বিকাল সাড়ে ৩টায় ঢাকার নারী ও শিশু নির্যাতন দমন ট্রাইব্যুনালের বিচারক এসএম রেজানুর রহমান এ মামলায় দাখিল করা চূড়ান্ত প্রতিবেদন গ্রহণ করে ইমনকে অব্যাহতি দেন।

এ সময় তিনি জিনাতের নারাজির আবেদন খারিজ করে দেন বলেও তিনি জানান।

শুনানির সময় জিনাত ও ইমন আদালতে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

গত ২৩ এপ্রিল জিনাত চূড়ান্ত প্রতিবেদনের বিরুদ্ধে আদালতে নারাজি প্রদান করেন।

জিনাতের আইনজীবী নুর ইসলাম বাংলানিউজকে জানান, ইমনকে অব্যাহতির বিষয়টি তিনি শুনেছেন। মঙ্গলবার আদালতে গিয়ে মামলার নথিপত্র দেখে পরবর্তী ব্যবস্থা সম্পর্কে সিদ্ধান্ত নেবেন।

উল্লেখ্য, গত বছরের ৫ ডিসেম্বর ধর্ষণের অভিযোগ এনে রমনা থানায় মামলাটি করেছিলেন ইমনের বান্ধবী জিনাত কবির।

এরপর ৬ ডিসেম্বর রমনা থানায় পুলিশের হেফাজতে থাকা অবস্থায় জিনাতকে বিয়ে করেন ইমন।

এ মামলায় ১১ ডিসেম্বর ইমন জামিন পান। জিনাতের আইনজীবী নুর ইসলাম খান ইমনের জামিনে আপত্তি নাই মর্মে ওইদিন আদালতকে জানিয়েছিলেন।

কিন্তু ইমন জামিনে বের হওয়ার কিছুদিন পরেই বিয়ে অস্বীকার করেন। এরপর তিনি এ বিয়ে বাতিলের জন্য মামলা করেন ঢাকার প্রথম যুগ্ম জেলা জজ আদালতে।

রমনা থানায় ইমনের বিরুদ্ধে করা মামলায় পুলিশ জিনাতের করা অভিযোগ প্রমাণিত হয়নি মর্মে আদালতে চূড়ান্ত প্রতিবেদন দাখিল করেন।

প্রতিবেদনে পুলিশ উল্লেখ করা হয়, ইমন ও জিনাত দুজনেই সস্কৃতিকর্মী। বিভিন্ন সময় সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানে তাদের দেখা ও বন্ধুত্ব হয়। এক পর্যায়ে জিনাত ইমনকে বিয়ের প্রস্তাব দিলে সে বিয়েতে রাজি না হওয়ায় জিনাত মনঃক্ষুণ্ণ হয়ে এ মামলা দায়ের করেন।

প্রতিবেদনে আরও উল্লেখ করা হয়, মামলা প্রমাণের মতো পর্যাপ্ত সাক্ষ্য প্রমাণ পাওয়া যায়নি।

কিন্তু জিনাত নারাজি প্রতিবেদনে উল্লেখ করেন যে, তার পক্ষের সাক্ষীদের জিজ্ঞাসাই করেনি পুলিশ। এছাড়া মামলার পর বাদীনির মেডিকেল পরীক্ষাও করা হয়নি।

নারাজিতে অভিযোগ করা হয়, পুলিশ ইমনের দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হয়ে এ চূড়ান্ত প্রতিবেদন দাখিল করেছে।

উল্লেখ্য, জিনাতের অভিযোগের প্রেক্ষিতে রমনা থানার ওসি শাহ আলমের নেতৃত্বে একদল পুলিশ গত বছর ৫ ডিসেম্বর ইমনকে গ্রেফতার করে।

চিত্রকর্ম নিলাম থেকে ম্যাডোনার আয় ৭০ লাখ ডলার

পাকিস্তান, আফগানিস্তানসহ বিশ্বের আরও কয়েকটি দেশে নারীশিক্ষা প্রসারের লক্ষ্যে তহবিল গঠনের জন্য সম্প্রতি নিজের সংগ্রহে থাকা একটি চিত্রকর্ম নিলামে তুলেছিলেন ‘পপসম্রাজ্ঞী’খ্যাত মার্কিন গায়িকা ম্যাডোনা। ফরাসি চিত্রশিল্পী প্রয়াত ফার্নান্দ লেগারের আঁকা বিমূর্ত চিত্রকর্মটি বিক্রি থেকে আয় হয়েছে ৭০ লাখ মার্কিন ডলার।
‘ট্রয়েস ফেমস আ লা টেবিল রগ’ শিরোনামের চিত্রকর্মটি আঁকা হয়েছিল ১৯২১ সালে। ম্যাডোনা সেটি কিনেছিলেন ১৯৯০ সালে। এত দিন তাঁর সংগ্রহেই ছিল চিত্রকর্মটি। ম্যাডোনা তাঁর অলাভজনক প্রতিষ্ঠান রে অফ লাইট ফাউন্ডেশনের জন্য অর্থ তহবিল গঠনের উদ্দেশ্যে চিত্রকর্মটি নিলামে তোলার সিদ্ধান্ত নেন গত এপ্রিল মাসে। সম্প্রতি নিউইয়র্কে আয়োজিত একটি নিলাম থেকে সেটি কিনে নেন অজ্ঞাতপরিচয় এক ক্রেতা। সম্প্রতি এক খবরে এসব তথ্য জানিয়েছে বার্তা সংস্থা রয়টার্স।
পথশিশু এবং দরিদ্র কৃষকদের কারিগরি প্রশিক্ষণের ব্যবস্থা করে থাকে ম্যাডোনার রে অফ লাইট ফাউন্ডেশন। এবার প্রতিষ্ঠানটির মাধ্যমে নারীশিক্ষা প্রসারের জন্য কাজ করবেন ম্যাডোনা। মূলত এই উদ্দেশ্যেই নিজের সংগ্রহে থাকা পছন্দের একটি চিত্রকর্ম নিলামে তোলার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছিলেন এ তারকা সংগীতশিল্পী।
এ প্রসঙ্গে গত মাসে এক বিবৃতিতে ম্যাডোনা বলেছেন, ‘আমি অমূল্য একটি উদ্দেশ্য সাধনের লক্ষ্যে মূল্যবান সামগ্রী নিলামে তুলতে চাই। অমূল্য সেই উদ্দেশ্যটি হলো নারীশিক্ষার প্রসার। আমি এমন কোনো পৃথিবী দেখতে চাই না, যেখানে স্কুলে যাওয়ার জন্য কিংবা শিক্ষাদানের অভিযোগে মেয়েদের গুলি করে হত্যা কিংবা আহত করা হয়। আত্মতুষ্টির জন্য আমাদের হাতে একদমই সময় নেই।’
ম্যাডোনা দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার মালাওয়ি থেকে দুটি সন্তান দত্তক নিয়েছেন। সেখানে ১০টি স্কুল নির্মাণের পরিকল্পনা করেছেন ৫৪ বছর বয়সী এই গায়িকা, গীতিকার, অভিনেত্রী, নির্মাতা, নৃত্যশিল্পী ও নারী উদ্যোক্তা।

অল্পের জন্য জিপিএ-৫ পেলেন না পড়শী

চ্যানেল আই খুদে গানরাজ প্রতিযোগিতার আলোচিত কণ্ঠশিল্পী সাবরিনা পড়শী। এসএসসি পরীক্ষায় গুলশানের ক্যামব্রিয়ান স্কুল থেকে বাণিজ্য বিভাগে জিপিএ-৪.৯৪ পেয়েছেন তিনি। অল্পের জন্য জিপিএ-৫-এর দেখা না পেলেও তাতে কোনো আফসোস নেই পড়শী ও তাঁর পরিবারের সদস্যদের। পড়শীর সাফল্যে খুশি সবাই।

পড়শীর মা জুলিয়া এহসান বলেন, ‘গান রেকর্ডিং আর মঞ্চ পরিবেশনা নিয়ে ওর যে ব্যস্ততা ছিল, এর মধ্য থেকে ও যে ঠিকমতো পরীক্ষা দিয়ে পাস করেছে, এতেই আমাদের অনেক বেশি আনন্দ। রাত-দিন দোয়া করেছি যেন একটা সন্তোষজনক ফলাফল হয়। এখন তো দেখছি, রেজাল্ট ভালোই এসেছে।’

এদিকে পড়শী বলেন, ‘গানের ব্যস্ততার কারণে এক বছর ঠিকমতো পড়াশোনা করা হয়নি। ঠিকমতো টেবিলে বসতে পারলে আমি নিশ্চিত এর চেয়ে অনেক ভালো ফল করতে পারতাম। তবে এই ফলাফল নিয়েও আমি অনেক খুশি।’

পড়শীর পারিবারিক সূত্রে জানা গেছে, পড়শী বাণিজ্য বিভাগে এইচএসসিতে ভর্তি হবেন ক্যামব্রিয়ান কলেজেই। কারণ, ক্যামব্রিয়ান কলেজে নাকি পড়াশোনার ফাঁকে গান-বাজনার জন্য অনেক সময় ও সুবিধা পাওয়া যায়।

শুটিংয়ে আহত কারিনা

ছবির শুটিং করতে গিয়ে আহত হয়েছেন বলিউডের অভিনেত্রী ও পতৌদির নবাব পরিবারের বউ কারিনা কাপুর খান। অবশ্য কারিনার আঘাত খুব বেশি গুরুতর নয়। সম্প্রতি পুনিত মালহোত্রার ‘গোরি তেরে পেয়ার মে’ ছবির শুটিং করতে গিয়ে আহত হন বলিউডের অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় এ তারকা অভিনেত্রী।
ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ বিভিন্ন দৃশ্যে বলিউডের তারকাদের অংশ নেওয়ার প্রবণতা দিনকে দিন বেড়েই চলেছে। নিজের চরিত্রটি যতটা সম্ভব বাস্তবসম্মত করে পর্দায় ফুটিয়ে তোলার তাগিদ থেকেই তাঁরা এমনটা করেন। কিন্তু স্টান্টম্যানের পরিবর্তে নিজেরাই এসব দৃশ্যে অভিনয় করতে গিয়ে মাঝেমধ্যেই দুর্ঘটনার শিকার হচ্ছেন তাঁরা।
গত রোববার সহ-অভিনেতা ইমরান খানের সঙ্গে ‘গোরি তেরে পেয়ার মে’ ছবির ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ একটি দৃশ্যে অভিনয় করতে গিয়ে আহত হন কারিনা। দৃশ্যটিতে অভিনয় শুরুর আগে তাঁকে স্টান্টম্যান নিতে বলা হয়েছিল। কিন্তু তিনি রাজি হননি। দুর্ঘটনায় কারিনার আঘাত খুব বেশি গুরুতর নয়। আহত হওয়ার পরও দৃশ্যটির শুটিং শেষ করে পেশাদার মনোভাবের পরিচয়ই দিয়েছেন এ তারকা। এক খবরে এ তথ্য জানিয়েছে ‘মিড-ডে’।
‘গোরি তেরে পেয়ার মে’ ছবির দলের এক সদস্য জানান, দড়ির ওপর দিয়ে হাঁটার দৃশ্যে অভিনয় করছিলেন ইমরান ও কারিনা। অত্যন্ত সতর্কতার সঙ্গে ভারসাম্য রক্ষা করে দড়ির ওপর দিয়ে হাঁটতে শুরু করেন কারিনা। পুরু পাটের দড়ির ঘষায় কিছুক্ষণ পর তাঁর পায়ে কালশিরা পড়ে যায়। তাঁর পায়ের ক্ষতচিহ্নটা দেখে মনে হচ্ছিল যেন পুড়ে গেছে। আহত হওয়ার পর সামান্য বিরতি নিয়ে আবার শুটিং করেন তিনি।

‘বিগ হার্ট লাভার বয়’খ্যাত সালমান এর আগেও একাধিক বিদেশিনির প্রেমে মজেছিলেন। তাঁদের মধ্যে ছিলেন মডেল ও অভিনেত্রী ব্রুনা আবদুল্লাহ। ব্রুনার বাবা আরবের এবং মা ব্রাজিলের। আরও ছিলেন জার্মান মডেল, অভিনেত্রী ও গায়িকা ক্লদিয়া সিজলা এবং ব্রিটিশ মডেল হ্যাজেল কিচ। এবার সেই তালিকায় যুক্ত হলো ইলুলিয়ার নাম।
বিদেশ সফরে গিয়ে ইলুলিয়ার সঙ্গে সালমানের সাক্ষাত্ হয়েছিল বছর দুয়েক আগে। সেই থেকে তাঁরা পরস্পরের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ রক্ষা করে চলেছেন। সম্প্রতি এক খবরে এ তথ্য জানিয়েছে ‘মিড-ডে’।
এক বছর আগেই অভিসার শুরু করেছিলেন সালমান ও ইলুলিয়া। সে সময় যথেষ্ট গোপনীয়তা রক্ষা করে চললেও ইদানীং তাঁরা অনেকটা প্রকাশ্যেই মেলামেশা করছেন। কোনো ধরনের লুকোচুরির চেষ্টা না করায় তাঁদের সখ্য নজর কেড়েছে অনেকেরই। প্রায় প্রতিদিন বান্দ্রার একটি পাঁচতারকা হোটেলে একসঙ্গে দেখা যাচ্ছে এ জুটিকে।
সালমানের হাত ধরে এখন পর্যন্ত বলিউডে যাত্রা শুরু করেছেন অনেকেই। সেই তালিকায় এবার যদি ইলুলিয়ার নাম যুক্ত হয়, তবে হয়তো অবাক হবেন না কেউই।
