Bologna vs Parma Live: Coppa Italia Line-Ups and Match Updates

Bologna open their Coppa Italia title defence with a fierce Round of 16 showdown against local rivals Parma.

The match kicks off at 17:00 GMT at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

The winner will advance to the quarter-finals, where AC Milan or Lazio await.

There’s no extra time in this round — if the match is tied after 90 minutes, it goes straight to a penalty shoot-out.

Bologna lifted the Coppa Italia last season, ending a 52-year wait for the trophy in a truly memorable campaign.

Vincenzo Italiano’s side had been in excellent form, going unbeaten in all competitions since their 1-0 loss to Aston Villa on September 25, a run that included seven wins and five draws.

That streak, however, came to an abrupt halt with a shock 3-1 home defeat to Cremonese on Monday, highlighted by a Jamie Vardy brace.

Lukasz Skorupski, Remo Freuler and Martin Vitik remain sidelined, but there is good news: Ciro Immobile returns to the squad for the first time since suffering a serious thigh injury on August 23.

Parma advanced to this stage by defeating Pescara and then edging past Spezia on penalties in the earlier Coppa Italia rounds.

Elia Plicco’s red card in that match rules him out through suspension, while Zion Suzuki, Abdoulaye Ndiaye, Alessandro Circati and Matija Frigan remain sidelined with injuries.

The Ducali’s league form also took a hit as they fell 2-0 at home to Udinese over the weekend, leaving them just one point clear of the relegation zone.

There is a debut for new goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, while rising USMNT prospect Benja Cremaschi earns a place in the starting XI.
